HSBC Start-Up Stars
London, September 15, 2008 – Entrepreneurs Anna Richey (29) and Alla Chapples (27) have reached the national finals of HSBC Start-Up Stars, Britain's premier awards for new businesses, with a top prize of £50,000 for the most inspirational start-up business and the entrepreneurial brains behind it. Now in its eighth year, Start-Up Stars is supported by HSBC, Sky News, the Daily Express and Google.The HSBC Start-Up Stars Awards is one of the UK’s most highly-coveted small business awards. Held annually since 2000, it recognises fledgling businesses with an inspiring blend of creativity, determination and business acumen.
This year, the overall winner will pick up a cheque for £50,000 to help grow their business. The company that demonstrates the strongest green credentials will walk away with the Green Award and £5,000. Both will have national recognition and receive their awards at a prestigious ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel in London on 29 October.
